Ben & Jerry’s And Greyston Trade Places

Greyston and Ben & Jerry’s have been working together for almost 30 years- making delicious flavor combinations like Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Half Baked, Non-Dairy Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Brownie Batter Core- and most importantly supporting each other on the journey to use business as a force for good. We figured after all these years, it was time to step in each other’s shoes- or factories.

Five incredible folks from Ben & Jerry’s spent a week at Greyston, making the brownies that ultimately end up back on their production line. They made the children at Greyston’s Early Learning Center smile, worked at one of Greyston’s 10 Community Gardens and enjoyed a dinner prepared by the students at Greyston’s Culinary Arts program. Most importantly, they got a taste for the family we have at this incredible bakery.

A week later, a few Greyston bakers trekked to Vermont for the first time and were treated to Ben & Jerry’s hospitality. We  were welcomed with open arms and fed ice cream for lunch everyday (what could be better?). Dion, Mark, Taurean and Rob were proud to pour the brownies they baked into chocolate ice cream and were touched to see that, like at Greyston, people come first in Ben & Jerry’s world. We scooped ice cream for guests at a local scoop shop, spoke with the Marketing team about developing new flavors, ate lunch with their gracious CEO and cleaned up a summer camp for children with cancer alongside Ben & Jerry’s team on their annual company-wide volunteer day.

The Greyston crew learned a ton of things during the Employee swap and ate more ice cream than ever before. But, the most important thing gained was an even deeper family connection between Greyston and Ben & Jerry’s. Meeting the legends on either side of this incredible story was more meaningful than you can imagine.

We can’t wait for more Greyston and Ben & Jerry’s collaborations!
