Our test kitchen team has created a simple yet fantastic brownie parfait recipe perfect for any occasion - whether you're celebrating Valentine's Day, an anniversary, a birthday, or simply just having a night in with loved ones!
For this recipe, we recommend using your favorite store-bought Greyston brownies, which you can find in Whole Foods stores nationwide or purchase from us online. However, if you're feeling adventurous, you can also use a boxed mix or create your own homemade chocolate brownies from scratch.
BROWNIE PARFAIT CUPS
Makes Two Servings. To make more servings, simply multiply to get your desired amount!
- 4 ea. Greyston Bakery Chocolate Fudge Brownies
- 1 qt. Strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 pt. Heavy Whipping Cream
- ½ C. Powdered Sugar
- 1 ea. Dark Chocolate Bar
Step One: Begin by layering sliced strawberries in the bottom and up the sides of a clear glass cup or jar. This sets the stage and creates a beautiful visual effect while adding a refreshing burst of flavor to the dessert.
Step Two: In a mixer, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until peaks form. This step is essential to create a light, airy texture for the parfait. No mixer? No problem! Before you grab the cool whip, whipping cream by hand is a great option if you don't have a stand mixer or hand mixer. All you need is a whisk, a bowl, and a little bit of patience. If you're making this with a partner or family, you can take turns whipping. There's something very satisfying about whipping cream by hand. It's a workout, but the end result is satisfying and enjoyable. You'll feel a sense of accomplishment knowing you made the whipped cream entirely by hand!
Step Three: Carefully spoon whipped cream on top of the strawberries until your desired height is reached. This layer of whipped cream provides a smooth and creamy base for the brownie pieces to sit on.
Step Four: Cube brownies into small, bite-sized pieces. Layer on top of the whipped cream. This layer of brownies is the star of the show, adding a rich and decadent flavor to the dessert.
Step Five: Add another dollop of whipped cream on top of the brownie pieces, ensuring that the brownies are fully covered. This layer of whipped cream helps to balance the flavors of the dessert and adds to its creamy texture.
